What WebMCP is
An AI assistant on your site today has to work the page out by looking at it. Which box is the search, which button adds to the basket, what a number on the page means. It guesses, and the guesses are often wrong.
WebMCP is a new browser standard for this. Your page publishes a list of things it can do, each with a name and a description, and the assistant calls them directly. A product search, an order lookup, a store finder. The standard calls each one a tool, and so does your report.
It is new. Chrome supports it behind a flag and an origin trial, and almost no sites have anything yet. A scan tells you whether yours does.

What the report says
A score out of 100 and a grade, then every check with what we found. A check that fails says what that means and how to fix it. Each report keeps its own link, so you can send it to whoever does the work.

How the test works

Runs in a real browser
We open your page in Chrome with WebMCP switched on and ask it what the page offers, which is the same question an assistant asks. Nothing is read from your source code. Tools your page adds a few seconds after loading still count.

Calls what it finds
Anything that only reads information, like a search or a lookup, gets called with test input. A tool that returns an error is marked broken, even if it registered correctly.

Leaves your site alone
Anything that could change something, like placing an order or sending an email, is listed in your report and never called. Forms are never submitted. A scan costs your site one page load.

Common questions
- My site has none of this. Is it worth scanning?
- Yes. Most sites score close to zero today. The report shows what to add first, and the quickest start is a toolname attribute on a form you already have.
- Do I need to install anything?
- No. Paste a public URL and read the report about a minute later. There is no script to add and no account to make.
- Will scanning change anything on my site?
- No. We only call actions that look read-only. Anything that creates, sends or deletes is listed and left alone, and forms are never submitted.
- Who is this for?
- Whoever the site belongs to, whether or not they write the code themselves. The score and the explanations read without a background in any of this, and each fix carries the detail a developer needs.
- Is Test WebMCP free?
- Yes. One scan per day from the website or the API, with no account and no key. Opening a report again is always free.
